Reservation
Methods
TravelHERO is interfaced with most major central reservation
systems through the Worldspan GDS. This provides all GDS properties with
automatic real-time reservations from the launch of the
program. These properties are identified by green checkmarks
in the directory. TravelHERO only collects the standard
commission normally paid to travel agents for completed
reservations.
Request-based reservations: Properties that are not
real-time through TravelHERO will receive reservations through
a fax/phone system with 24 hour turn-around time. Visitors
will submit a reservation request online and a fax will be
automatically generated to the property to check availability
and rates. If the property faxes back a response to TravelHERO
indicating that they can accept the reservation, TravelHERO
will call the property by phone to provide the customer’s
contact and credit card information. All confirmed
reservations are credit card guaranteed. Computer and Internet
access are not required for properties to participate.
ResHERO: An optional
inventory management system is available, which allows
properties to allocate inventory, rates and packages for sale
in real-time.
ResHERO allows properties to
open and close dates, adjust inventory, promote packages and
maximize their yield. Properties do not pay any set up,
transaction or annual fees, just a 10% commission for
completed reservations.
The Reservation
Process
Once
implemented, web site visitors will take the following path when
making reservations:
- Visitors who click on a link in your
web site to TravelHERO will be presented with detailed
information and photos of your member properties.
- By clicking the “Rates &
Availability” button, visitors will be transferred to the
reservation wizard. Visitors will then be led through the
process of completing the reservation—selecting dates, room
types and rates.
- When visitors click the “Make
Reservation” button, their reservation will be processed. In
the case of real-time reservations, a confirmation number will
be displayed in their browser and a confirmation email will be
sent. In the case of non-real-time reservations, visitors will
be emailed a confirmation number within 24 hours of receiving
the request, if it can be fulfilled. If the requested property
is not available, TravelHERO will make an effort to offer
alternate properties that meet the visitor's criteria.
- At any time during the process,
visitors will be able to navigate back to your web site as all
navigation elements will be active on the page.
Fulfillment of
Lodging Reservations
TravelHERO
will fulfill all online lodging reservations made via the custom
booking engine. This includes any and all necessary contact with
lodging properties and Internet customers. TravelHERO’s
Privacy Policy and Secure Site Guarantee will be in
place at any point following visitors’ click-through access to
the custom booking engine.
Maintenance
of the Database
TravelHERO will
be responsible for maintaining the lodging database, which
includes:

Adding properties to the
database
- Deleting
properties from the database (when necessary)

Updating property information
in the database
- Adding up to
six (6)
photos to property listings
at no charge
Adding/Updating Information to the Database
Properties can be added or
modified to the database or information easily updated online:
- Go to:
www.travelhero.com
- Click on the “Hotel Operators” link
at the bottom of the page
- Select “Get Listed”
- Select either “Add property” or
“Modify existing property”
- Select country, state and city
- A wizard will walk you through the
rest of the process
Changes usually appear within 24 hours
of submission after being reviewed by our site maintenance
department. If any questions arise regarding the data submitted,
the property will be contacted directly by phone to verify the
information.
Hotel/Ticket Packaging
Properties that are
real-time through TravelHero will have the ability to sell
special rates and packages online, as long as the property can
handle the fulfillment of all components included in the
package. TravelHero will provide rate plan codes that can be
submitted to the property’s central reservation system, which
will allow the special rates and packages to appear throughout
the TravelHero distribution system.
